Exhange House joins "One Billion Rising"

Exchange House National Travellers Service will be joining One Billion Rising in inviting organisations, politicians and especially women in the community to support and participate in theevents on February 14th 2013.

On this day activists from across Ireland, and in 120 other countries around the world, will be organising events to mark this rising - including stagingconcerts and events, leading flash mobs or performingdances in public - allto spread the word that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. This means that 1 billion women across the world will be affected. One Billion Rising is intended to create awareness around, build support and help prevent violenceagainst women. So let’s get the discussion going on attitudes towards women in Ireland and around the world and show solidarity to those who have been affected.

DANCE LOVE STRENGTH SOLIDARITY - NO MORE VIOLENCE

Get involved and show your support, there are many events taking place around Ireland on Valentine’s Day - the International Day of Love - including:

  • a flash mob on Grafton street Dublin at 6.00pm
  • a group dance in Eyre Square in Galway at 1.00pm

Other events taking place around the countryare at:

  • 1.00pm - The Spire, O’Connell Street, Dublin 1
  • 1.30pm - Mainstreet, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal
  • 2.00pm - Maynooth, Co. Kildare
  • 6.30pm - Cloughjordan Parochial Hall, Co. Tipperary
  • 6.30pm - Crawford Street, Cork City
  • 8.00pm - The Square, Listowel, Co. Kerry
